The Grand Island Mansion Wedding Faire is a fantastic opportunity to enjoy one of the region's historic landmark venues for a no pressure, fun and interesting experience.

Tour this 24,000 square foot spectacular Italian Renaissance Style Villa featuring eleven luxurious accommodations with period furnishings and authentic artwork throughout, surrounded by stunning classic Italian gardens and fountains. Tour highlights include elegant dining rooms and grand ballroom, English hunt bar and lounge, movie theatre and bowling alley. The boat dock and yacht will also be open for tours.

The Grand Island Mansion

The historic Grand Island Mansion is a uniquely spectacular Italian Renaissance style villa.

The Mansion is the largest private estate in northern California, and embodies the finest features of classical architecture and European craftsmanship.

Designed by renowned San Francisco architect J. W. Dolliver in 1917, this four-story, 24,000 square foot, 58 room villa is centrally located between the Northern California’s major cities, in the lush Sacramento delta region east of the San Francisco Bay.

The historic house was built by the finest craftsmen from Europe and features five marble fireplaces, inlaid parquet flooring, rare handmade tile work throughout, imported wood paneling, luxurious period furnishings and authentic artwork.

Events at the Mansion can accommodate from 50 to 500 guests, either inside the Mansion or outside in the recently installed Marquee tent.

Guests can entertain in the private English Hunt lounge and bar which overlooks the spacious and iconic Colonnade room.

For overnight accommodations, the Mansion offers 11 elegantly furnished rooms.

How to Get Here

Located in the lush Delta Region of Northern California, the Mansion is only 30 scenic minutes by motorcar from Sacramento, Stockton, or Lodi; 45 minutes from Walnut Creek or Concord; 75 minutes from Napa; and 90 minutes from downtown San Francisco.

Driving Directions

From San Francisco

Take I-80 north toward Sacramento. Turn right onto Highway 12 at Fairfield to Rio Vista. Go over Rio Vista Bridge. Turn left onto Highway 160. Take Highway 160 through Isleton. On the outskirts of Isleton, follow Highway 160 across the river and continue north on the west side of the river. At Ryde (approximately 8 miles), turn left onto County Road 220, follow along 3 miles to the dead-end at the river. Turn right onto Grand Island Road, the Mansion is 3 miles along.

From Sacramento

I-5 South
Exit Freeport
Turn left on Pocket Road
Turn right on Freeport Blvd.
Cross the Freeport bridge (right)
Turn left (towards Clarksburg)
Drive 14 miles to Grand Island Road
Cross bridge, turn right, Grand Island Mansion 3.5 miles.

From Elk Grove

I-5 South
Exit Hood/Franklin Road, turn right
Turn left on River Road, continue through Courtland
Cross the yellow bridge (Paintersville Bridge)
Turn left on 160
Cross yellow bridge (Steamboat Slough Bridge)
Turn right go down 4.5 miles

From Stockton

Travel I-5 north, exiting at the Walnut Grove/Thornton Rd. exit. Turn left, traveling west several miles into the town of Walnut Grove. At the stop sign, turn left onto the bridge, after crossing bridge turn right onto Highway 160 going north on the west side of the river approx. 5 miles. Just before the Steamboat Landing bridge, turn left onto Grand Island Road, the Mansion is 3 miles along.

From Fairfield

Travel east on Highway 12 through Rio Vista and across the Rio Vista Bridge. Turn left at signal onto Highway 160. Continue on Highway 160 along the river through Isleton. On the outskirts of Isleton, follow HWY 160 across the river and continue north on the west side of the river. At Ryde (approx. 8 miles) turn left onto County Road 220, follow along 3 miles to the dead-end at the river. Turn right onto Grand Island Road, the Mansion is 3 miles along.

From Antioch

Travel Highway 4 to the Antioch toll bridge, crossing the river and the road becomes Highway 160. Travel Highway 160 several miles to traffic light at Highway 12. Continue straight on Highway 160 along the river through Isleton. On the outskirts of Isleton, follow Highway 160 across the river and continue north on the west side of the river. At Ryde (approx. 8 miles) turn left onto County Road 220, follow along 3 miles to the dead-end at the river. Turn right onto Grand Island Road, the Mansion is 3 miles along.
